starting up my first small saltwater reef (26 gallon bowfront) i know i cant do much but i wanted some stocking ideas. really not into clowns but any other ideas would help.

Zebra dartfish I have had good luck with in the past. They are going to want a corner of the tank though to dig caves in/hang out in the open. They are kinda like cardinal fish in that regard. If you have boisterous swimmers they might not come out either.
a 26 bow is a little tight for a gaggle of bar gobies.

small fish are few and far between in SW, and most of the rare ones are damned expensive, but you can flesh out a tank with any number of small inverts
porcelain crabs
pom pom crabs
sexy shrimp
bumblebee snails
tube worms
hermits
etc
