0wen_96 0wen_96 if you can find pics or evidence of a captive bred polypterus delhezi thats 17" let me know biggest I have seen and heard of is 14-15" and thats real luck

ok soI have two tanks a 75g and a 125g standard dementions right now this is the stocking

125g
-two oscars 8-9"
-1 spotted pictus
-13" common plec

75g
- 1 4-5 inch jack dempsey male + 15 x 1.5" baby Jacks babys will be going soon
- 2 x Polypterus delhezi 7"

what would be the optimal arrangement for maximum fish I can get cant get anymore tanks now so im going to try and fit everything together like tetris lol well within reason dont wanna over stock

Thanks!!
Aside from the pleco (long term) I think your tanks are fine as they are, Delhezi can potentially reach 18” but most stay around 12”-14”, especially CBs If you don’t mind a little more maintenance you could add one or maaaaybe two more smaller bichirs to the 75. Just depends how hard you want to work.
Your pleco is probably fine for a year or two as well

still a 15" is big for a 75 gallon

so the 75g is not full or over stocked even with the two bichirs and one dempsey?
Eh, it depends if those three are gonna stay there for life, and how much maintenance you wanna do. I’d say it’s pretty much full, but not over stocked. You could probably get away with one more depending on what it is. If it was mine I’d probably ad one more smaller bichir or a top swimmer, but I like a full tank and don’t mind the extra work.

J Joshuakahan I do 50% wc a week but can up it as required I would love a poly palmas or a odeo pike and they most likly will be there their whole life but not for sure
I think the bichir would be fine, you may or may not need to up your WCs, just test and see. The pike might work and there’s a good chance it won’t. My belly crawler mostly gets along with my bichirs and Oscar, but there’s moments when it doesn’t.The Oscar and bichirs don’t fight back, so it’s not bad. There’s no way to be certain until you try, Just have a back up plan. So from a bio load stand point, I think you’re fine with good maintenance, with the pike from a compatibility standpoint, it’s a maybe IMO
