Hi,

Currently I have a 150 gallon tank with an oscar, gt and texas, firemouth, and JD.

I also have a 60 gallon with a 6 inch Jag.

Ideally I want to put the jag with the others but I have tried and he is too aggressive for them. So can I put either the oscar on its own in the 60 gallon or the GT and the JD together in there?

I can sell the Tex and fm and get a female for my jag to try and breed them in the 150.

Here are the tanks dimension of the 60, its bow fronted thats why i've included a drawing.

Thanks

you can try to put the GT and dempsey in the 60g i doubt they will get along but you never know until you try, how big are the other fish? and how long have you let the jag be in with them, a little fighting is fine while they are sorting out the hierarchy of the tank you just have to observe and separate if they start to do actual damage to each other and what is your deco like? with good deco i would think those fish would be fine but it depends on personality of fish

Well, at the moment the jag is bigger than all but the oscar and was beginning to really damage the smaller tex, thats why I took him out, but I could remove the tex and fm and try again I suppose, is it possible to put the oscar alone in the 60?

Thanks

Every fish is different. It seems like jags though when with smaller fish have no tolerance of them. I haven't tried a female with mine but all else have perished! He is a BA. Sounds like yours is too!

why not put the tex and the firemouth into the 60g, i wouldn't really recommend putting the O in there as when he is full grown he will be longer than the tank is wide at its narrowest point so would make movement for him kind of awkward

Thank you both, that part of the tank is only about 4 inches worth but i see your point, I think I'm going to find it difficult to part with the O, GT and JD. Surely if the Oscar was on his own in the 60 he would have enough room. He would have to be over 13 inches to find it awkward and that would only be in the a very small section of the tank.

Thank
Jake
