2 metriaclima estherae
1 pseudotropheus lombardoi
and maybe some dithers
Tank is 48 inches long `21 inches high 13 inches high all fish will be purchased as babys to minimize aggression slightly
tank has black gravel
lots of caves/rocks
an aquaclear 70 and soon to be emperor 400
artificial plants
tank top, light and stand
what do you think? anything i need to take out? they dont seem to look eachother much in terms of color

i think you'll have agressive issues cause the sectret of mbunas is to overstock the tank and to have many of the same fish to disperce aggressivity into the same fish species when geting their own territoy and mating too
and melanochromis auratus is a very very mean fish..since fry...

Yea you will have aggression issues, most likely because you are understocked. Also, you are way under-filtered.

You need to:
1st def. upgrade your filtration ASAP.

2nd You need to buy about 8-10 more mbuna.

Well them you need to buy more than just 4 fish.

more fish... more of each kind or other types, but increase filtration and number of fish

my 2 female auratus does fine with other smaller mbuna and 5 auratus fry. they just follow each other around the tank and mind their own business. but if they want something they get it.

I do not believe the famales are a problem... the males are and adding females to the males makes it worse...
