not a great plan... really check out shellies there are a few different types, or use it for grow out on cichlids...

I had considered that as well. The 75 at work can handle a lot more than what I have in there now, using this 37 as a grow-out did cross my mind.

I did look into the shellies though and they do look very interesting.

12 Demasoni and 6 yellow labs can work in a 37 gallon. Granted they will only be temporary housed in this aquarium(upwards of 3-4 months). Go check out www.cichlid-forum.com and ask over there if its possible to house these Mbunas for a period of a few months in that tank. I can almost bet you will receive the same answer I did. Mine has worked with minimal aggression. I would highly recommend you do not go lower than 12 Demasoni in a tank that size because of the aggression issues.

edit to above post: Oh and to clear up any further confusion. What I suggested would only work for juvenile cichlids. As they mature you will need to move them to a bigger tank. I would do this in about 4 or so months. I am on my second batch of Demasoni and Yellow labs in this tank and they are doing great. The first batch are all alive, except for one poor lab, and well in a 55 gallon. I have to many fry!
