Stocking my 75 gallon

I always buy 3 dempseys cause you cant tell if they are male of female yet. Eventually and hopefully, two of them will pair off, then i bring the third back to the lfs. Even buying 3, there is a 25% chance they are all,the same sex. At leaset you cut your odds in half. You could even buy 4 at that size, 3$ each is reasonable. Once you get a pair again bring the other ones back. Your fish are very small and they dont grow so fast that you are gonna get overwhelmed with an overstock tank.

I don't want EBJD's. They are $50 for the little ones!

I am thinking about getting another one because I know there is a slight fin difference with the anal fins, but I don't know when that becomes noticeable. To me, they both seem the same right now.

Can you have 2 paired JD's in the same tank?

So I went out and bought another JD with hopes that they will pair off.

How long does it normally take for them to pair off? Is it almost immediate, or do they have to slightly mature first?
