Ok so today I took back the big JD and picked up a much smaller one (1.5"), he/she seems to be much more fun. It is not hiding at all, swims with everyone and especially loves hanging with the silver dollars and the acaras. No one is running around in fear now like when the other JD was in the tank, so we shall see now how they grow up together. I'm out hunting for a nice looking lutino/albino Oscar now to go with my tiger and I'll be good to go. I know adding height to the tank doesn't really do anything for their space, but oscars do use the entire tank and if I can add 30-50 more gallons and get closer to 350 then at least it will keep the bio load in check. Just got to figure out glass thickness and price before I decide on the second Oscar.
