Well I'm almost 100% sure that I am going to make my 40 Gallon a Mbuna tank. But i'm very unsure about the stocking. I've done the research and I know these are aggressive fish.

Can someone give me a good stocking choice with fish that are Blue or yellow and can live in a 40 Gallon tank.

Thanks in advance!

40 can get a little small for some of the bigger species of Mbuna. A good species would be Demasoni. They stay smaller, and they are blue.

Do you think I would get more out of a 40 if I did an Amazon Comm. instead?

Are there any yellow fish that could be combined with them if do go ahead with this tank?

You may have some luck with Saulosi. They dont get very big the males are blue with black barring and the females are a goldish orange color.

^ Very nice!

So could I do:

Saulosi-2.2
Demasoni-2.2

I wouldnt from what I read demasoni are very mean and should be kept in groups of 15 or more or only have 1 .Also Demasoni look somewhat like male Saulosi and they might fight.

Hmm true...is there any other species they would get along with in a 40.

The size of your tank is really restricting your options you might try looking at yellow labs they are pretty calm they can get bigger but they seem to grow slow also rustys stay smaller the males are brown with a purple sheen.
