Stocking question

So my brother is setting up his first aquarium, I gave him my brand new 54 gal corner tank . I usually don't just give away new tanks but I just never did anything with it. Anyway he wants to do something cool I suggest African cichlids but he's not into those. What would u guys stock this tank with. Originally I was going to do a fully planted tank with invertebrates
