You can always duct tape egg crate or strips of plexiglas to any openings. I think fire eels would be fun. Datnoids could be cool too. Maybe a smaller puffer type or a school of jaguar cats and some fancy plecos
No my Angels need the heater. was going to move them over today. so I can free up my 75.
Jjaws7777, my lids aren't a concern I had planed on doing something to replace what i had. its mostly the back section around my over flows that need to be addressed. I wanted a puffer, But I think they would tear up my back ground and I aint ready for a fish to destroy it since I just did it. but your right Fire eels would be awesome. I had to look up Jaguar Cats They are cool. I am going to research them some more. and now I am second guessing myself again.
I dont see pictus eating cories, but they will certainly harass them from time to time.
Large group of firemouth could be cool. I would go with a group of hoplo cats in lieu of pictus though. They are better suited to your somewhat hard water and would correspond geographically to your firemouths.
I should add, this tank is at my parents place, I recently moved out, even though I only moved next door, I have no place in my house for a 8' long tank. but I am over there every day to drop my dog off so he doesn't get seperation anxiety, he can play with their dogs. So my tanks are still their as well haven't finished moving completely. So why am I saying all this, Well because Even though I will be still able to enjoy the tank, I won't be able to enjoy it as much as If it was at my house. So I don't want to drop a ton of money on fish if I can't enjoy them like If they were at my house. I would prefer to buy a few larger fish, vs buying a ton of little fish. Although I have thought about doing about 200 silver tip tetras in their with my angels, that make a nice schooling display. But again when I look at the tank, I see fish that are larger, not tank busters but around a foot or so in size. I am not looking for a tank that looks overly stocked. To me its more natural understocked, but I do want to have the tank look active at least. And I do like more than a species only tank thats why I like tank mates.
Backfromthedead, in that size tank if I did a small school of pictus with the cories, I dount think they really harrass to much their be plenty of places for the cories to go if they were being harrassed. But you are right haplos would do better and I don't know why I didn't think of that lol. thanks. And A large schoal of fire mouths would be cool.
thanks I actually have seen those videos. and then some. But My state is picky on what you can keep apparently, I still have more research on natives, and on local/state laws.
