Here is a list of stores in Jersey that Jeff Rapps sells to:

Aaron's Aquarium in Union 908-687-1771
Absolutely Fish in Clifton 973-365-0200
Aquatic Visions in East Hanover 973-386-0885
Fish and Friends in Howell 732-677-3668
Pet Shanty in Scotch Plains 908-889-8262

I don’t know much about Jersey Geography so I have no clue where these places are in relation to you… You should be able to have them order anything off of his site.

Shopping on Rapps site and asking the closest store to make you a special order will probably save you a bit on shipping… You may also want to check his shipping prices to you as you guys are very close…

no point in shipping however when you can just drive and pick up ^^^^^^^^^^^^^

I'm of the impression that Jeff only allows pick ups under special circumstances for special customers... although as I'm several hundred miles away I've never asked Jeff this question personally....

I couldn't hurt to ask him, but don't be insulted if he says no. We have to keep in mind that his breeding facility is not only his place of business but his families home...

It says on the website that since we are both in Jersey, he can ship via Same-Day Ground, which is very reasonable. Besides...he is all the way in Phillipsburg.....that's like 4 hours from me. I'm only 10 minutes from Philly. I'll pay a little bit to save myself that drive.

Do you know if he ever has Oscars in stock? There wasn't much mention of them on the website and it look like he specializes mainly in other South and Central American species.

i %100 disagree, A SINGLE OSCAR needs at least 55 gallons! this is for teratory for a oscar and when they get fully growen its enough water to dilute water. 2 oscars need 110 gallons! and a 6 ft tank becasue when they hit sexual maturity they get agressive to there owen kind, they are not a schooling fish they would perfer to be only with them selfs and no other oscars. if your oscars are peacefull you might getaway with 2 oscars in a four ft tank. if you chose to have 1 oscar(witch is the smart thing to do) you could get a jack dempsey or a few silver dollers or a pleco or somthing like that. i had to oscars in a 4 ft tank and i was told it was fine, and they almost killed each other one day. iam talking though experince and if you had 3 oscars in that size tanks will run into problums, also with 3 oscars to will kill one, and later the other to might kill each other for room, no matter what i say it your call but you will need a 6 ft tank to havce to happy oscars, they dont relly need a tall or wide tank they need a long tank for terrortory. trust me, it has happend to me and many others who made the mistake of to many oscars.
any qestions
i was talking bio load as far as space goes a 120 would be to small

i would agree that a verity of fish would be better i and was trying to suggest tank mates

also i've seen many oscars kept with other oscars when older they aren't very aggressive and i've seen pic of people with huge tanks that have groups of like 10 adult oscars (all over or close to 12'') that all swim together adult oscars are shoaling fish

By nature... adult Oscars are not shoaling fish... some Oscars may accept being pushed into this situation... in my experience most will resist...
