While I don't try to match the pH in Lake Malawi or Lake Tanganyika...by the same token I do try to put these fish in a pH of 7.8 or more to at least approach their natural environments. The people that I buy these fish in do the same. No idea what would happen if you raised frontosa in pH=6.0.
