I'm ok with that. I have way more than I want and LFS around here aren't good at taking fry. I will just get a breeders net for the few I want to raise.
So I moved the Rainbow cichlids last night. They haven't paid any interest to the fry at all. I did add floating plants for 2 reasons. 1 I read that the RC like having cover and 2 it gives a place for the fry to retreat if need be. Like I said before I only want to keep a few of the fry. After the fry are out of this tank. I think I may add Von Rio Flame Tetras and either Colombian Redfin Tetra or the Turquoise Dwarf Rainbows or I may just leave as is we will see. Thanks again for the suggestions you guys gave it really started jogging ideas.
I was going to add sand to the tank but my wife says she likes it as is. Do the RC need sand substrate? there is the slightest bit of sand on the bottom from moving stuff from the main tank.
The first pic shows the set up
Second pic if you look to the left of the RC you will see the fry and it shows a pretty good size comparison.
Thanks, I appreciate all your input on this. I am pretty excited about these. I never knew anything about RC until recently. Seems like my LFS are getting more unique CA's in this past year. Since I love CA's it's both good and bad for me if you know what I mean lol.
