won't the Geos stay under 12"? Whatever I get needs to be in the 12-30ish" range. I know that opens the stocking WAY up.
A dat would be sweet.
I just don't know if I can wrap my head around an aro yet. I don't like the drop eye lots of silvers get. and jars from what I hear don't do well with tankmates. I was thinking of doing a cat but I read that if you don't hand feed the rays the cat will beat them to the food. And I want to let the rays have the run of the bottom. The only bottom dweller that might be added is a common pleco and that will only happen if I have a big algea problem.
I have with my 2 motoro 2 peacock bass, a tinfoil barb, 5 silver dollars, a ntt dat and a HBRTG aro. They all get along fine except for the occasional nip at the tinfoil barb when he gets too close to the aro at the top of the tank.
With rays and armatus go with a nice large and active poly like an Endli or two, a tig would be nice, he wouldnt out compete motoros for food, it may be the other way around! Another nice cat would be M. irwini. Gars would be a great choice too. They wont mess with anything they cant eat.
If you can find a big datnoid go for it, but that will be a tough find. Cichla are ok but they eat like crazy and may compete with every one for food. I wouldnt get any fish other then the rays until your armatus is off live or he will never get a chance to eat.
You couldn't pay me to house any dat with an Armatus....... I also don't know of anyone out there having LONG term success with Cichla and Armatus...... I'm sure someone can prove me wrong, but I can't think of anyone off the top of my head.
