I would purchase the festa at a larger size to because they grow so PAINFULLY S-L-O-W!!! If you buy all the fish at the same size in about a year your oscar will have grown 10 inches+ and your festa will only be MAYBE 2-3 inches bigger.... A very easy target for a jaguar or oscar! Remember... They are CICHLILDS! They can and WILL attack or eat or try to eat ANYTHING they can or they think they can overpower!

Yeah but be careful with playing the Festae size game. My 6" Festae handled my 12" Midas and 12" jag with ease. Now at 9" ..... Not much she can't or won't handle.

I have only kept 1 in my lifetime and mine was really mild... It got up to 7-8 inches before i sold it...

Mine was timid till about 4". Then she wouldn't start a fight, but she refused to back down either. Mine is not particularly aggressive, but if provoked she will show who's boss quickly.

Now at 9" she only gives in to the male, and that's only occasionally before a spawn.
