Stone background

I could not find this in a search, but the Force is not strong in me when it comes to search.

I will be breaking down a 75 gal tank and drilling it in a few weeks and am thinking of using these stone pieces as a background, I will just silicone them in place. has anyone used them before?

They appear to be natural slate, not a concrete product.
It is glued together with some sort of epoxy, I was unable to break the bond even by striking it on the floor (the piece was already broken)

Cost will be about $60.00 for the 75 gal tank (including a tube of silicone)

Hmm weird, the link works for me.

Anyhoo, I found a post on an aquatic plant websight where someone had used it. I broke the 40gal tank down and resealed it.

here is a picture just before I cut the holes in the stone for my bulk heads.

I tested the re-seal on the tank over night. No leaks.

I drained the tank, dried it out and laid the stone.

I used just over one tube of silicone (roughly 36" x 16" of area).

After I lay the stone, I filled the gap under the stone (about 1/4" - 3/8") with silicone and then dumped sand on it (i use a very thin sand sub straight)

I will fill in around the bulkheads with stone chips tomorrow.

First link worked for me... might have to stop in at my local Lowes and see what other styles they have... I seem to remember some kind of lightweight 'stone look' siding material at Menards, but don't recall what it was made from...
