Ive used NLS on my fish for a time and they seemed to enjoy it. The only real issues I had were that I had sinking pellets and some of the fish just had a preference for floating.

to the OP, how long have you had those particular pellets? Is it possible they could have gone bad? Maybe get a new small container and try that and see if there's a difference.
If it's any help, my O doesn't like NLS that much?! Don't get me wrong he'll eat it if I persevere with him, but he much prefers his Hikari Gold and Nutrafin Predator Sticks over the NLS. Guess it comes down to the individual fish and whether or not the fish is 'Bored' with the same food day in day out??!!
Sorry for the delay in replying,RD,for the first month I fed the 1mm pellet ,am and pm.Two evenings of the week they would get freeze dried krill or freeeze dried earthworm and like I said over the past month they've finaly come to a halt on the nls,I guess the other foods are more appealing, and yes,its a new jar of 1mm cichlid formula same as before,but I don't think that has anything to do with it.I'm going to try the steps you mentioned and see what happens.
Jason,no it's a new jar of nls.It's buggin' me because I swear by nls.I've raised colonys of tropheus exclusively on this stuff and always had great results and they can be a fragile fish when it comes to feeding.Thats it,

That's the attitude. I suspect that by this time next week they will be eating like every meal is there last.
