Have you checked to make sure your pH kit isn't off?

I guess that could be an option. What do I do just go out and get another kit and see if it reads the same?

The circulation pump is still pointed toward the waters surface. Enough so that the surface has a ton of movement. If my filtration is off as a whole, what do I do?

Or take a water sample to the pet store and see what they think the pH is.

So I took a sample to the local Petco and it read the same for them. She recommended Kent's Superbuffer-dKh. I picked it up and treated my tank as per the directions. I'll give this a few more days but nothing else has worked so far so I'm skeptical.

Right now all you are doing is shocking your animals.

7.8 is fine, I have seen a lot of "Reef of the Month"s over on R2R with the same pH, some even lower.

Just make sure that you stop it from swinging all over the place. Buffers are a good waste of money for the most part.

Well I checked it when I got home s and it read 8.2 so i'll keep checking it daily to see if it bounces back
