dude no offense, but you just can't buy a few flowerhorns and expect to make a King Kamfa. King Kamfa are the super select of hte most top grade kamfa, and are very rare for true king kamfa. EVERYTHING is labeled as KK these days, giving people pipe dreams IMO. You will probably need a female also, both those fish look male to me bro.

The two Fh i bought was not for any breeding intentions, i just bought em becuase i low balled the breeder. I have also been doing some research and im completely aware of the top grade flowerhorns needed to produce a kk. I'm not expecting to breed the most beautiful KK just want to attempt to produce one regardless of grade.

a king kamfa is just a really nice kamfa, pearls all over the chin and body, wrap tail, solid flowerline.

So i went to this breeders house and he ordered some really beautiful KK's. So heres my question, what would happen if i paired up a male KK with a zz female? The breeders KK's are all male with double flowerlines, and im planning on purchasing one.

thanks for all the info so far guys, i really appreciate it. :)

what would happen is that kamfas take a long time to mature, so odds are you'd have to wait and wait and wait before you could see if hes fertile or not, but odds are it wouldnt be

All I have to say is good luck. I don't know if anyone but the orig. asian breeders know the family tree. To be honest I don't even think I have ever heard of anyone in the US successfully breeding true MP KK. Even sellers in the states that have KK you can tell they are nothing like the imports. Obviously they have been at it for years and years until they have literally bred perfection. I could be wrong as this is what I have learned but either way if you pull it off I will give you the maddest props. Until then all you can do is try and see what you do actually create. Thats what I do anyway try to breed something new and better. :D

hahah i happen to be vietnamese and i went on a trip back there last summer to find some of the most prettiest flowerhorns. There's a lot of flowerhorn breeders in my area who are all vietnamese and they either imported them or smuggled them over here along with the asian arowanas. Surprisingly they do have KK's in stock and ill try to get some pictures next time i stop by for you folks to ID it.
