Oh thank you so much guys. I've moved the pleco and now the bichir is sitting under the tree. However the tank looks a bit empty. What type of catfish can i keep with the bichir?

In a 29G tank? You can try oto catfish, julii catfish though I am not sure about their max size.

I already told you in your stocking thread the pleco and bichir wasnt a good idea haha

Raphael Catfish sound perfect for your tank, they only get around 6 inches and are armored so they can stand up to some other nippy bottom dwellers like some bichirs can be. Theyre pretty ancient looking when they get larger, i think they look great with bichirs. They have small mouths that will clean up after the bichirs too. Another type you also may be interested in are some of the smaller Hoplo catfish, they are also armored and have small mouths so you dont have to worry about them messing with your other fish. No on the clown loach unless you plan to upgrade to a bigger tank, they can live a long time and get pretty large, the Hoplo is perfect too im getting some to be the cleanup crew on my own 30 ga growout tank haha

I would try and get your fish into a different tank because this will stress em out.. scoop out the coral (filter off) and after rinsing your new sand for a good half hour to get as much of the tiny particulates out as you can try to gently lay it at the bottom to lessen clouding. Turn the filter back on and clean out the motor of your filter after it all settles. Put fish back

How many should i take? I had a hoplo for some time. My cousin had some problems with his aquarium so i take it for a while. It is a very good cleaner. It eats everything and it is very active. And about the sand how much should i take and what type. My city is near the sea so i can take some from the beach. But i don't think that is a very good idea. What about a quarz sand?

Im sorry but i have no idea what brands are good in your area lol just ask the local LFS for some aquarium sand

For quarz sand i can buy from a shop for building materials. I was just at one LFS and there was some gravel for african cihlids .The pebbles were pretty small like sand. I saw very beautiful angelfish. Are they going to do something to my bichir? And are they small enough to keep in my tank. I think i am going to take two hoplo. And i am thinking of something which swims on the top and the middle layer of the tank. Beacause i don't want only bottom dwellers or i am going to overpopulate my tank. :)

Idk about that sand, youd have to ask them if there are any additives or bad things in the sand, as for the "fine" gravel you saw at the shop that would work out great.. i ran white and blue "fine" gravel on my first tank
