that don't look like a wild caught to me. wild caught are generally black or dark grey or green with a bit of red marking on them around the ocellei nothing compared to the oscars in shops. yours just looks like an oscar with little red marking, unless they are Crassipinnis which normally don't have much red at all.

if i am not mistaken there are in fact 3 species of oscar. Astronotus Ocellatus, Crassipinnis and Orbiculatus.

the very first oscar of the thread looks more like its derived from Crassipinnis. not having much red but mainly black and grey with small white markings.

Was that in reply to my pics or the ones posted above?..
and I did visit your shop last week..lol..had to go to wildwoods just down the road:)

heres a few more pics..

woah snakemanstu there is no reason at in this thread that i have said for you to start making comments likethat about me and where i work. there has been a lot of unneedy remarks lately on the forum and i am one for stamping them out.
i in no way said anything personal about yourself or your fish i just commented on the colour and pattern of the Oscar. i do think it is a very nice oscar, i personally haven't seen many like that before and i do like that sort. they do look more natural and better imo than the heavily specific looking oscars out there.

and yes Home Marine are one of the better shops in the country, if not the best for marine needs, that is why we have such a big club scheme. you don't stay in business for 30 years for people to comein the shop then say "nah go down wildwoods".

if you want to take this up personally then i'd rather you pm me then in public where it takes up space on threads.

thank you and no offence intended.

 :chillpill: I think its you that needs to hold up mate.. Are you slightly paranoid?..All I said was I did visit your shop last week whilst I was going to wildwoods.???? I park in Maidenhead aquatics carpark and visit all the aquatic shops up Crews hill..I was only going to wildwoods to view a fish that they had on their website for sale..I saw that you worked in HMC in your sig and just stated I had visited you recently thats all, nothing more nothing less..reason I asked if you were commenting on my pics or not was because others had posted various pics on this thread and you never stated which ones you were referring too in your reply..so Mate..I suggest if you have a problem with any of the above then YOU pm me..

Been on the shandy? you just don't know where to stop. lol
so you don't think that in the way you typed it down "and I did visit your shop last week..lol..had to go to wildwoods just down the road" that it is misleading or confusing whether you are taking the preverbial or not by putting in a few fullstops and then lol (because you obviously don't mean Lots of love) then some more fullstops and saying "i had to go down wildwoods".

yes i may have been confused but the way it has been put down is the reason, and we don't need you getting all upty by saying "YOU pm me". please i think we are all grown up and mature enough to not start a petty argument.

Look just forget anything was said. aint worth the hassle.

Ok....well....now back to that interesting Oscar. I love that coloration pattern very unique. Kind of resembles a cross between an oscar and the crappie I used to catch near home in North Carolina. Maybe its a Oskapie????lol (ok bad joke:D )
