I'm not monkey brain, but here's my opinion anyway.

Stress coat = garbage.
Save your money. Oxiginate water and no need to worry much about chlorine.

Don't even have a test kit. Stop being marketed to.

totally agree,

i stopped buying bacteria formula and water conditioner.
i was forking out like 30$ a month for those products with all my tanks(6 tanks). so i cut down water changes from 40-50% a week to 20-30 % every three days without using any bottled products and my water is preems, my piranha are also less stressed from large 50% water changes and temperature drop. and im saving mulah

its a win win sitchiaation.

thanks for the good advise everybody. sounds like the stress coat is a no go. i'm going to try varying the diet and observing the results. also, smaller, more frequent water changes sounds like a good plan.
