New Mexico
Yesterday I changed my substrate to sand in my 10 gallon tank. There is a pair of 2 - 3 inch sajicas and 3 guppies in there. They were both really stressed after I changed the substrate. This morning I checked on them and the male was fine. The female was still very stressed and staying in the upper corner of the tank. The male is also beating her. I don't know what to do. The only store that sold them in New Mexico went out of business so if she dies I cant just get another one. What should I do?

the best thing i can tell you to do is to low the light. have alot of places for it to hide and calm down and give it some room {let it calm down undisturbed for a little}

Catch the female and rest the net so both ends are on the front and back of the tank, while the net with the female is still in the water but in the net.

Id lower the light and put a divider in separating the male and female if shes getting beat up...preferably an eggcrate divider and not one of those clear plastic ones from the pet store. Let them get used to each other again like that since you just made a change that the male apparently doesnt like.

Word of caution, sometimes changing substrate can throw the tank into a mini-cycle. I've had it happen when I changed my 29 from gravel to sand. Keep a very close eye on your stats.

They will be going in a 55 gallon in 1 or 2 months.
I shut the tank light off and covered the tank.
I will check on them every once and a while to see if there fine
