Let's see if I can load the image....

So, as I keep discovering these great Victorians, I have one in my 75 now. He is not blossoming at wll. The tank is populated with some Malawi haps and a frontosa and a couple of labidochromis. Also a Demasoni.

Is this environment too agressive for a Victorian to flourish, or did I just get a candy ass?

they get that color when they are dominant in there tank, and breeding

These are pretty hard to find...NOt sure of where you could even get them right now...I don't think they would go well with the Demasoni though.

Vicks can be sweet!

do you have a photo of your victorian? I have one that I have been told is a thickskin and as of yesterday he finally started to color up and this happened immidiately after I took the dominant red zebra out of the tank.. I will post a before and after photo if I can get a pic of him flared up it also helps that I have a female thickskin in there as well but before I took out the red zebra he wasn't showing much color now there is a drastic difference in color just from removing one ( very aggressive male mbuna) out!!

Getting the haplochromis limax is very hard and you will have to go through lots of trouble to get them. I haven't heard of anyone who has the true hap limax inside the U.S. But that kind of setup seems too aggressive for the victorian to be able to fully color and be comfortable. Reason for this is the demasoni which are known to be a highly aggressive mbuna, the frontosa and haps will be too big and boisterous towards the victorians. By the way what kind of victorians do you have?

The victorian in the link is a very nice fish and are beautiful as adults displaying lots of red. But without pics of the actual fish you have, I can't really tell what you have since all vics can look so similar. Pics would be great, so that we can give you an accurate ID. :)

I hafta work on that
It is kinda immaterial, I am probably going to trade him for something more Malawi friendly
I really need a Maleri Peacock

Do you mean an aulonacara stuartgranti maleri island? there are a couple ppl on here that are selling those... Get some pics of your vic!!
