Not a big fan of mine ... He is sharing his cave with a pleco they are big time buddy's.... I never see him I even sometimes forget he's there!

They will get acclimated to lights once they've been around for awhile. I've had mine about 3 years, and had one for seven years before I had to get rid of him. Mine eats with all the other fish and is really a cool fish. Slow growing, but can fit a lot of grub in his belly.

personally mine is a nightmare...or not as the case may be.
iv never seen him move apart from when he gets stuck in all the places he knows he wont fit. i came down the other morning to find his tail poking out of the top of the tree trunk in his tank....needless to say i had to get it out cut him out of it and ruin yet ANOTHER piece of nice show stuff for my tank!!!
tbh apart from when he gets stuck, thats the only time i ever see him, but he is beautifull..i think lol

yea i never seen mine eat...although the time it got stuck i think it was chasing a barb, last barb of 8, i thought it was my bichir to blame but finding the catfish in that compromising position i have a feeling it may have been him and that was to teach him a lesson!!! lol

I have 2 spotted raphaels. 1 striped. 1 giant.

i never see the spotted eat anything. everyonce in awhile the striped will come out during the day and search for food. And the giant is well... he's just special.

I have two banjos and am searching for more. Want to see if i can get a pack of these like i've heard about, am even making these my first catfish breeding project.

Good Luck:headbang2

I have a striped raphael I got a few months ago and a spotted one that I've had for a couple years now. I see the striped one because he's not very good at hiding, but the spotted one will dig way under rocks.

I see them when I clean the tank, and that's pretty much it. I worry about them getting enough to eat, especially with the ripsaw I put in the tank recently, but they're as fat as ever.

My spotted raphael sure is...hardy. He hid under the heater once and was badly burned. He took several weeks to heal. He also lost one of his pectoral fins. Mr. Indestructible.

wow good thing i found this thread i'ma go see if they have some at my lfs
