STRIPERS

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I think Bizzaro was refering to Striped Bass Morone saxatilis get 4 feet long and would need a huge tank. Aros get 4 feet long too, but striper are andromodous and that would be complicated to recreated in a home aquaria. I'm sure arapimagigas could keep one or two adults if he wanted, but then again he has ]V[onster tanks.

Zoodiver, what do you think? Ever keep any?

I think around in AZ they stock Hybreds. Smaller more gamer ones. All i know is one type... how many are there?

There are 4 species within the genus Morone plus a hybridized variant:

Morone americana (white perch)
Morone chrysops (white bass)
Morone mississippiensis (yellow bass)
Morone saxatilis (striped bass)

Wiper (white bass x striped bass hybrid)

We only have striper (saxtalis) and white perch x striper hybrids in DE. The hybrids are only in one pond because they are stocked. The striper are easy to find if they are running into the rivers.

The only bass around me are the saltwater stripe bass which almost always grow beyond 4 feet. I often catch them around 5 feet, I got lucky once and caught one 5' 10". I know there are some places with fresh water stripe bass, anyone have those newar them I also know over here there are strict rules about stripe bass and unless with a permit and a monster tank, you wouldn't be able to keep them.
