I kept1 for 3 yrs before and he always came out,he would eat any and everything!!!When i took it out of my tank to trade him in he did make a loud kinda snorting or "croaking noise.
I have a Striped and a Spotted Rapheal Catfish. I've had them for 3+ years. The striped Rapheal will now eat anything i put in the tank. Live fish or shrimp. Freeze-dried shrimp. Algea wafters. Sinking and floating pellets.
Although when I first got them the only thing they would eat was the algea wafers broken up into pieces.
i have a striped not realy sure what it eats .he is 15 yrs old ,for about three of those years kept him with a oscar. there was never food left over but when i drained tank there he was looking good. i have seen him eat earth worms. good luck.
They are deff. carnies... i feed mine frozen brine & krill, any flake or pellets that reach the bottom are eaten as well. Aro should be OK as long as the cat is decent sized and has a cave/shelter to hide. Mine is out a lot, especially when its feeding time. They can def. smell food in the water and will begin searching.
Im trying to find what the best thing to feed this fish is. The store I got him at said sinking algae wafers, but online there is a lot saying they like shrimp and krill and are more carniverous
