If your saying its possible meaning that a convict can breed with a black belt then your answer is yes but there is no black belt in that at all doom2. Trust me he would look way different, but anyway my offspring from HRP x Marble are doing great and growing fast. All the fry hatched in the batch i didnt have a single egg die or mold and still at 26days later none of them had died.
I have some pure blood, "blond"(lucistic) HRPs on order so, soon I will have something to compare him to. I will post pics when I get them.
I found two female Calico Convicts today. Both are about 1" and yes, I still can't convert to centimeters in my head. One must have two genes for marble as she is well covered, the other has just one spot. Both, even though they are tiny are covered in red. The one with just one spot is almost solid red and has blue fins! The LFS owner swore up and down that there was not even a pinch of HRP in them and that good convicts these days have been selectively bred to have much more color than wild convicts. They are both in a biologically clean but algae covered mess of a quarantine tank. I tested the tank it's good water, I am just warning you because the pictures will be full of green slime algae and plants growing out of control. Pics coming soon, I will go try to take some now if the two little girls will come out of the plant jungle to the front of the tank.
Lol, thats a pink convict hrp which is a hybrid. I have some in my batch of marble x hrp so thats not pure blood.
The seller says they are not hybrids. He says that this mutation has occurred in HRPs independently and not by mixing with convicts. I don't know that for a fact but I am going to bring one of the babies in to the owner of Mike's Cichlids, one of the "Florida Fish Farmers" near here that has been breeding cichlids all his life. He will give me his opinion. He also has pure HRPs I can see to compare shape. And if they are hybrids, that's not a problem since I was going to breed them with my Pink Marbles anyway....

The more spotted one is slightly smaller and more shy so it was harder to get better pics of her. There are some semi-lucistic White Cloud Mountain Minnows and Lutino Sailfin Molly females for size comparison.
My betta was extra feisty tonight so he is in there somewhere too...

I am going to breed one of them to that male. When I get large spawns of babies I will send you a whole spawn of fry for just the cost of shipping.
