Guppy's. If you look at the type of water they can live in, there very strong powerfull fish. Ha ha
makes a strong point. this is pound for pound right?

probably not the strongest lb for lb but has anyone ever tried to wrestle a 26" p. niger? i'll wrap it in a bath towel and the d*** thing will, with a lil flip of it's tail, throw me all over the place.

Reviving a two year old thread...cool.

This discussion seems to be mostly fresh, maybe because people don't have experience with salt but i really doubt most of the freshies mentioned could touch a few of the trigger species in terms of strength.

barramundi 6'8 of pure aussie muscle.

 I take it we are still talking about FISH here, right?

The titan trigger fish is hardcore. Maybe ARTC

i would go for a pima

as far as power for freshwater, i'd say maybe carp (common, grass, etc.) or freshwater drum. we rolled a drum electrofishing for striped bass and it got away quicker than the bass.

btw, one of my LFS's had small grass carp for sale :WHOA: (or so they were labeled). i hope to god no one without a huge monster tank would buy one.

I once tossed a channel cat we caught in the back of a classmates campershell...This was in Phoenix AZ by the way with the days averaging 120 in the shade... anyway three days passed before he needed something out of the back and opened the door....

Took a single wiff and power-launched a couple of freshly scarfed lunch room burittos at LEAST three parking spaces...

Now THAT'S POWERFUL....
