Strongly considering creating a hybrid

No one cross is gonna make a Flowerhorn for starters. Personally I would go Viejaparatherapswhatever because you will get some nice fry from that batch. Cuban would be interesting but might be a bit harder to pull off.
 
I have to agree with my husband and say none of the above. She needs that one male. But if you absolutely MUST ( i wouldnt) go for a vieja mix.

I think I'm going to sell the Gullutas, Grow the Cuban and keep any eye out for Trimac or anything else nice and 8" +
 
Why cant he pair with another species and when he finds a suitable same-species mate pair it with his current trimac?

By gullutas you mean guttulatus right? If so I vote that :)

LOL yes, That name is one of those I cannot ever get out right lol. But the Guttulatus was on the one photo I linked. I think he might be too passive for her. But I will consider a careful introduction if I do keep him.
 
Ok we'll I checked with Sharks Aquarium and it looks like I have a bunch of options if need be.

Rapps has little Trimacs, if I take that route.

Sharks has Mota's and Fredd'ys
Sharks has Midas and I think Some other FH in stock but all small about 1.5-2" anything from Titanium to Golden Monkey

I'm going to check Absolutely Fish tomorrow and do some recon. The Cuban I have is developing a kicking personality too.
