Stubborn Juvie Ocell Refuses Massivore >:(

Allright, so I posted a little while ago about one of my lil pbass lying on the bottom like he was injured. He is doing fine now, but I wanted to ask you guys about another issue that's been ongoing with him -- namely, his stubborn azz won't eat Massivore. It's been like this for two months now. I would try to withhold other food for him for up to a week. When not trying to starve him into taking Massivore, he gets red wigglers and shrimp and lake smelt soaked in vitamins, but his colors are still REALLY disappointing compared to the two that have been pigging out on Massivore since they were about 5" (so, about 2-3 months now, they're all about 7", and from the same vendor shipment to one of my LFS).

Water parameters are pretty nice. 84*F, Ammonia and Nitrite 0, Nitrates 20 ppm, pH 7.4. Am I just spoiled by the others' colors?

Cant help u with getting him on massivore.

But WOW! Look at the difference what massivore will do with color!

Ah well, thanks for dropping by sevank. :) I caught up on the subforum's feeding and care topics since these are atypical fish, and have been trying every trick in the book. Starving, slipping him shrimp to see if the carotenoids would help, nada. He is healthy, just disappointing. Even if everyone is stumped by his stubborn butt, I can at least let everyone see the difference in color! I am amused that one of the bichirs photobombed the pic, :grinno:

The guy in the back of the first picture has really taken off this past month! He put on over an inch, nuchal hump's blown up on his head, and he thinks he owns the joint.

He looks great. Any pics of the others and did you get the one on massivore? I have 6 azuls and 1 won't touch the massivore. I stuff it in tilipia and he finds it and spits the pellet out
 
Hikari Bio-Gold + Floating Pellets, easy no mess, and no smelly water.....Good luck.
 
The one lil guy that won't eat it does the same thing as your azul! I've even tried making lake smelt donuts with squished up Massivore filling, and he'll chew a while, then spit it out. :/ He has a tail deformity too, which is not helping matters. He loves bugs and earthworms, so I've been varying his diet, but it sure would be a lot simpler if I could get him on Massivore.
