I like this idea as a backup if the mayor and other officials can't persuade the headmaster but money has already been spent on the prom no doubt.

yeah...i'm sure that everyone has bought their tickets and arranged limo's and everything already...although if they really wanted it im sure it could be done...

I was barred from my senior prom as well...not for something as sweet as he did, but i got into a fight with a kid on the stairway of our auditorium during a national honors society assembly...after being hit 3 times...i snapped and threw him over some chairs...got suspended for 12 days, out-of-school..and was banned from prom...i still went, tried to enter...and was kicked off the property...so i hope for his sake he gets to go...it sucks sooooo bad when all your friends are going to fun stuff and you miss the one fun thing everyone is doing..

As said above missing this will not be fun.

+1 to the thoughts that this is unfair, and I obviously support the kid based on what has been said here.

Lastly, no, he should not flunk just to be able to go next year...that would leave him a year behind everyone else, and for something that isnt really worth it.

How badly would it suck to go through another year of HS just to go to a dance haha.

Having graduated high school last year, I can tell you that there are no set in stone rules. Many kids blatantly violated rules and many kids also got banned from prom over suspension policies. However, as the date got closer, they started making more exceptions.

I think if this lady is going to stop this kid from going to prom, and that's what she wants to do, it is going to happen. I don't think there is enough time for anybody to really pressure her to allow this kid to attend his prom.
