According to the OP he works for US Fish & Wildlife.... hence the finely crafted poll for the purpose of a "Study". Give me a break.

Again my thread and poll was to see how many people in the US would pay for a small permit fee to have an legally own an AA in the states thats all . I forgot we have to many flamers on MFK give me a break .

as we know this will never happen so we cant see how many people will put there money were there mouth is now for my poll ?

how many of you would pay $2k + for a asian aro as thats how much you will need to pay if you could buy them

not a low grade rtg gred banjar red or xback im talking about the hygh grade fish you all drool over and say we wish we could get them in the US

dont think you can buy aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaback and think its going to get as good as the pics you see because thats not the case most aro sold as xback turn out just a bit better than RTG

now people are going to say a rtg is all they want trust me thats not the case nearly ALL RTG owners look to upgrade after a few years

and they are not just expencive because they are banned we can get them in the UK so can canada but you would still need to spend $2k+ to get high grade

I really would be ecstatic just to buy a legal Asian Arowana. For me price is not an issue. It would be great to buy something I could show to my friends that are in Law Enforcement and a Arowana that would not make me live like a recluse. Being able to show and the possibility (the bio geek ipart of me) of owning a high grade Red Asian or Platinum Asian of some kind I would have no problem paying top dollar. Legality is the issue not price.

When u buy this fish it's not about money u spent it's the luck u will have once it's yours. (:

what you think people in the US dont got money? only Canadians and Brits can afford to buy 2k fish? Gimme a break

great feed back so far this is what Im talking about , this study is because I have raised this question to the higher up with USFWS and the extra fee would go to conservation projects in Cambodia of the Wild AA . Keep the opinions coming people . I agree tho once if they were to make them legal with proper permits and fees the prices would prob not change for a while because of the fees etc of what would be involved but after some time they should pan out . IMO
