Fungus can look like that. But fungus tends to keep growing bigger and bigger.

Fungus normally grows on dead tissue, not glass....

i have a white film grow all on the glass on my 29 snail breeding tank. A close up revealed tine mushroom things. fungus does grow on glass.

I dont have any snails what so ever. The tank is freshwater. On closer inspection with a magnifying glass, they look like white/transparent feathers almost. The feathers are kinda curled up like a ball.

that is the fungus i had. it never hurt anything but it is an eye sore. it started growing in my tank then i was breeding snails. applesnail eat alot so i was always throwing fresh veggies in the tank. it went away when i sold off most of my snails.

Normally yeah.

But as photographers the world over have learned, it can grow right on glass. Many classic/antique cameras have been ruined by fungal growth on the lense.

What does it survive on for food?

Okay well back to my problem. How do I get rid of this, I dont want to clean the glass every two weeks?

pics?

I really wish I could get some pictures, but they are pretty hard to see. I have to get really close to the glass to see any detail and then a magnifying glass to get good detail.

this is driving me crazy!!!
