RAYS RAYS RAYS RAYS!!! NO ONE brings rays out of Uraguay, Paraguay, and Argentina. They would be a HUGE hit. Nuff said....
The govt of Uruguay is pretty strict on what they let out. Basically they limit a person to 4 of any 1 species and a total of around 120 fish. The costs to bring fish out is $300 for permits plus whatever frieght and fuel surcharges the airlines are charging. Right now that is around $250 a box and the box must be under 20 kilos.
I am mainly going down to catch unknown tetras and livebearers. That is why I am selling off all of the "other" things I might find.
I am a fairly cautious packer. As an example for the pikes I am bringing back I will be packing them 1 to a bag and probalby 16 to a box. A larger fish like a dorado or a hoplia I would probably pack 8 to a box. Rays something like 4-6 ot a box.
My point is it isnt cheap to get fish out of Uruguay also I cant get fish out in bulk.
