Jeez dude. I have absolutely NEVER saw anything like that, but i think it looks a lot like some kind of paracite. If thats the case, depending on what type of paracite it is, it could do some serious damage to your fishies. BUT, Im sure that there are paracites that dont harm fish, but plants. Is your tank planted, or do you just have the driftwood in there?

How could there be a harmless parasite?

i took some pics of the stuff on the 20 gallon its got the same stuff but its whiteishclear and its also got some other stuff that look like i guess a tree in that it attaches itself to the glass and aat the end its a bunch of strands that sway with the waters current

I was watching these things for a while it seems like its a worm that picks up algae or gunk from the tank walls and builds a small tunnel around it which is why it never seems to move.the color of the tunnel is usually similar to whats around, in my tank with tannins its brown and in my clear 20 gallon its white. also i've noticed a few pairs of worms wriggling around and i think they were breeding. From this info can anybody tell me what it could be and how to get rid of it?

It looks like planaria I've tangoed with it plenty of times. It usually comes from over feeding but that's not always the case. The last batch I had came from a used wet dry filter. Don't use any chemicals just vacuum the gravel and do water changes every other day. Also a Pleco or algae eater will help thin out the numbers. Don't clean the glass when you do it smashes them and then they multiply. Trying to wipe them off or smash them will only ensure they survive. They must be eaten or removed whole. Just keep up the water changes and vacuum the gravel and feed less and they will die off.
