I got bit by a 3 foot chain link moray eel. It hurt like hell, my hand swelled up like some cartoon character. The only thing that helped was to stick it in the hottest water tolerable. I was left with bite marks from every tooth on the top and bottom of my hand but thankfully got no infection. Im sure it was nothing compared to a lion fish or sting ray sting though. Glad to hear that you did not have more extensive dammage to your hand. RIP Croc Hunter
i got hit with 4 or 5 spines of a lion fish when i worked at a LFS, it wasnt really the sting that bothered me, it was try to continue working as my hand swelled up and became stiff due to the swelling, not sayin it didnt hurt, i say each spine felt 2-3 times as bad as a bee sting... Not tryin to hijack, just addin
glad your hand is ok now.
I'm also getting a pair of rays this weekend, but a little afraid of accidentally being stung. btw how do you safely transfer rays?
I'm glad to hear you're on the mend. I am also very respectful of my rays when I am in the tank. I always make sure I know where they are but I think I may have to get some gloves just in case.
You can never be too careful and I'm about 100 miles from the nearest hospital. Good thing the truck is an automatic.
