Stung by Leiocassis siamensis

Do you generally stand in your tanks during cleaning?

I've been stung plenty but @OP: how do you think the "venom" was removed from the wound, however partially? Did the extractor sucked out some sanies and blood? With snakes and bees etc. the venom is liquid and is injected into the puncture. With catfish it is a part of the slime coat which has poor rheology, does not flow well.

It sucked some more blood out of the wound which may have washed venom out with it. It's hard to diffuse against a flux.
Having said that, I did not run a placebo study to compare with vs. without Extractor.
Volunteers wanted....

You do have more than one finger, right? :) Just kidding. I was interested in what came out and how much, is all.

9 catfish, 10 fingers.
This cannot be a coincidence...

Lol

Guess I need to be more careful with my siamensis, I always handfeed him and he swims up and down my hand and arm without once stinging me. Also originally put him in his tank by just picking him up out of the bag LOL. Although I've been stung by plenty of bullheads including my own, so I know what it feels like haha.
