Id go get him, No matter what he'll be better off in a bigger tank, Ive never kept any Aro bigger than 8" in a 55Gal. He needs room to turn an Swim, Like he was meant to.

If someone can keep a jardini in a 55 gallon tank for 5 years, chances r he will not be good wif water conditions too.
Give the fish a new home. If he is eating well after you brought him home, chances are u'll see positive development after 2 mths
Sorry about the earlier msg, that was my smartass roomate. Yeah I would definatly get him, Hey if he stays small he will be that much easier to house properly. If he doesn't, super sweet. Id put him on beefheart and gut loaded crickets.
I hope you get the fish just so that it has room to swim if it grows that would be cool but if it doesnt at least it can swim around in a bigger tank
