Stunted growth of a jardidi

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Id go get him, No matter what he'll be better off in a bigger tank, Ive never kept any Aro bigger than 8" in a 55Gal. He needs room to turn an Swim, Like he was meant to.

i think you should take the aro, save it. i just got a jardini, and wish i knew more about them, good luck

an opportunity came by me a few hours ago. i've found out that there is a jardini that someone is giving away in my area. i think i may pick it up, however its been kept in a 55g for 5 years and is only 13inches long. The growth was obviously stunted. If i do pick this fish up and throw him into a much larger tank is there a chance it may start to grow? or is the poor mistreated fish doomed ?

Bro dun waste the chance, and go get the fish. Although the fish may be stunted due to the tank size..chances are, it's also due to poor water conditions. Poor water conditions will affect a fish's appetite. The fish may be eating just enough to survive, but not enough for further growth. If someone can keep a jardini in a 55 gallon tank for 5 years, chances r he will not be good wif water conditions too.

Give the fish a new home. If he is eating well after you brought him home, chances are u'll see positive development after 2 mths :)

Sorry about the earlier msg, that was my smartass roomate. Yeah I would definatly get him, Hey if he stays small he will be that much easier to house properly. If he doesn't, super sweet. Id put him on beefheart and gut loaded crickets.
