Stunted Growth?

Wow...crazy if i may ask...if he wasnt crammed all his young baby life how big would u say he would be now? its been 10 months

Jags grow easily 1" per month. like an oscar. and sometimes even faster. your jag if it was male would have been around 10-12" in 10 months.
 
my buddy has plants in all his tanks... Does a monthly 20% wc.... Everything grows like a weed in there... Feeds twice a week only tho...
 
Feed them every day. twice a day if they are small and you want to get good growth rate. I do weekly water changes about 10% and I have good filtration. some people do more water changes if they have less filtration. also try feeding them some high quality protein based foods if you want to really get some good growth.

most cichlids will eat or destroy plants so unless you get a particularly plant loving one prepare to have them eaten or at least ripped apart. My oscar rips apart plastic plants, let alone real ones.
