Hi, about a year ago i was very inexperienced with fish and polys. When i walked into my LFS they had 2 sens in about a 5 gallon aquarium. They were both about 3 inches each maybe 1/4 of inch more or less. the only difference was the girth. I at first got the skinny one. The LFS said it would be ok to keep in a 20 gallon aquarium with lots of water changes. So i kept that one in there for about a week until i brought the other one (the Girthier one) The girthier one is the one i have to day (he killed the other one) he was in the 20 gallon at about 3 inches. He was about 5 inches 6 months later when i Finally got a 75 gallon. Now he is still about 5-6 inches he has gained A LOT of girth though. But doesn't seem to put any size on. the latest i would have gotten him was about september last year. And with all the experience i was wondering if i could un-stunt him, tell if he is stunted, and if he is what can i do to help him with 2 other friends in a 75 gallon (ornate and beuttikoferi possibly to be joined with others). (he has been in the 75 gallon for about 6 months now and is always first to the food) Anything will help. Thanks in advance Dr.B

Anyone? anything i really need help this is my very first and one of my favorite polys. Please anything

Not from what i can see no. I guess i forgot to mention when i was inexperienced i feed him 3 pieces of freeze dried brine shrimp each day until about November. (and i never really concentrated on the water) REMEMBER THAT WAS ME FROM THE PAST I AM VERY EXPERIENCED NOW!!

Clean water, healthy diet (pellets, NLS omega one) and no aggression in the tank is the best u can do.

Go S. Vettel #1 rb8

So is he stunted or not? he looks fine nothing abnormal most active. He gets girth (i meen a lot but not like bloating) Then it seems to go some where. Not in size or anything just disappears. Is he ok or not if not i want to get a nice tank for him to live the rest of his time in.

Just a low quality breed.
Could be semi short or short or just stunted.
Either way you cant change this.

And all due respect, you keep pushing how "very experienced" you are now, but November to August is only 9 months.
You may have gained knowledge, but far from "experienced"!

The reason i have stated that is because i have been a member of many other websites (not fish related) and the second some one shows weakness they get attacked. And i love this website a lot and i really don't want to end up like that. I am srry if i am sounding as if i know everything but i just want to get the point across that i'm not poly ignorant. I'm not trying to sound as if i know everything if i knew everything i wouldn't be here.

It's OK bro, just pointing something out.
You are with decent people here, nobody should attack you.

We all learn from each other, thats the great thing about this hobby huh?!

also sens grow slow, super slow, some of them grow fast (luck of good genetics) but most, because the majority of them are captive breed, grow SLOW, like i cant even stress how slow growing they are, your sen is prolly just FAT lol.
