I agree, it doesn't look like a rd. I think it's a blood parrot showing more rd traits, than whatever else is cross to make bp's

you can tell by its lip.a parrot wouldent have lips like that they are more heart shaped

blood parrots will readily breed with a red devil/midas and the more often they bred together, the less the fry look like blood parrots (with oddly shaped mouth and body shape) and the more they resemble the midas/red devil. in a couple of pics you've posted it appears that your red devil has some hint of blood parrot and that would explain the slow growth.

I agree the first pic looks like a BP, but c'mon people. Havn't you guys seen a Rd that looked like that? C'mon now, thats how alot of juvies look after they have been fed. My Rd/Midas in my avatar used to look just like him just 3 months ago after a good feeding.

i doubt the tank size is the problem. if it is an rd/midas, i figure it would get noticeably huge for a 29g before stunting is a concern
