Stunting

I made another thread about getting fish that actually fits in my fiberglass tub, so check it out if you don't mind. My mother is very nice and will allow me to have bigger tubs to house the fish, the problem is my father is the one setting them up for me. Yes this is embarrassing and because of his point of view, well pretty much i can't get bigger tubs since i'll have to get this approval to do so. Once again, embarrassing

It really isn’t embarrassing you shouldn’t feel that way. There are plenty of fish that are lots of fun that you should look into. Big tanks cost big money to keep running successfully long term so I do understand your fathers point of view about limiting the size of the tank you have. I would assume your parents are paying for everything so you should appreciate that they let you have a fishtank. I think the main thing here is that you enjoy where you are in the hobby now, and don’t get too carried away with it. You will have plenty of time to keep large fish in the future when you can afford to do so. Small fish can still be Monsters so don’t get discouraged and maybe you can show you old man some new tricks.

This entire thread hurts my brain, and has lowered my opinion of humanity in general.

And further:

1. Don't call out your parents, especially on the internet. Show some respect.
2. To everyone replying that your dad is stupid, etc - you show some respect as well.

Maybe I'm just starting to get old and irritable...

After reading this I reread through this thread, and realized there’s a little confusion in the beginning tone of this thread. I think the story could be getting twisted up a little bit and might have gotten the best of some of us. Way to be the Dad of the group and reel us all in.

Yeah i guess i crossed the line, sorry

Since i can't get a bigger tub i will rehome my fish to someone i know who has a massive outdoor pond, and i have asked him and he allowed me to give my fish to him. Then i will go for the suitable species for my tub

Hello; Decent plan. Time passes agonizingly slowly at 13 and surprisingly fast at 70. You will get over being 13. Our Hendre was 15 for an entire year but eventually made it thru recently.
Good luck.
