Stupid Blue Rams! When will I learn!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Unless I missed it, what are your NitrAtes at? Rams are seriously sensitive to Nitrate (Ammo and Nitrite should obvisouly be zero). This is my opinion only but that is why they strugle to breath and die. I learned this the hard away.... My rams average about 2 years before they die, they are just not a very long lived fish.

One more note, my GBR's have always lived in a PH of 7.6 just fine. I think they do fine with a higher PH so long as it does not change and they are aclimated very slowly when first purchased.

sorry how to make a new thread?

Raise the temp. Rams come from water that averages 84-90 year 'round. I always had trouble with blue rams until I raised the temp to at least 84F. My tap water is the same parameters as yours.
