I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this from reading previous posts. I've never directly asked and now I want to hear the answer personally. Here goes.

Can I keep a male Dovii for life in a 156 gallon tank that measures 60"x24"x25" if he is the only tank inhabitant?

There...I finally got it off my chest so stick it to me if I'm :screwy:.

I really want one though so gotta know for sure.

some say u cant but then again,if i had a large tank like that,i dont see it hurting the fish or stunting it,in other words yes i belive it could support it for life.

:iagree: go for it and post soem pics

ooo. sounds good

it should work for a long time, eventually a BIG male dovii can make a 24" wide tank look small however

It will work for years to come maybe 5 or six.....

I think you could, I see people breeding them in 75s and stuff. You are a responsible fishkeeper, I am sure you would do what is in the best health for the dovii if it got absolutely way too big.

hey i got a pair of them in a 75 gallon. i know they will need a bigger tank but my female is only about 5.5 inche yet and she is a year old. so i can imagine that a tank that size woudl last for awhile

ps, and i dont think this is a stupid dovii question, read some of my older posts and youll see some stupid ones, haha

I don't know about keeping it in there for life, but I'll be ok for a couple years. I usually try to keep fish in tanks that are atleast 3 times the length of the fish itself, so once the dovii hits 20" it'll look pretty cramped. That shouldn't be for a long time though, and you'll be lucky to have it get much bigger than that.
