stupid midas...

sad day today...

i was cleaning my tank and my midas jumped out while i was down stairs putting the syphon out of my door, i come back up and he was flapping around on the floor. i quickly picked him up and put him back into my tank i held him in the water and he just sat there i held him in there for about five minutes then he sunk out my hands and was breathing very heavily on the bottom of the tank, i stopped syphoning the water out of my tank and shut the curtains and door in my room to make it dark and i was hoping that would stop him being so stressed.

i left the room for two hours and then went back into see if he was ok.. unfortunatley he was lying on his side on the bottom of the tank not breathing.

Ouch, sorry for your loss. That's how I lost my Istlanum just over a year ago.

thanks, yeh sometimes you wonder why cichlids are meant to be very intelligent obviously not enough to know when you jump out it spell disaster.

yea i am currently trying to save my ParrotxRose Queen after he got wrecked by a Rose Queen. Hes is not doing so well in the Hospital tank.Still breathing faintly but upside down...

Sorry to hear of your loss. I had a green terror jump from the tank a while back, I was kinda bummed out for a day or so.Thank god my jaguar didn't follow. I do think the jag made her jump though.
