sad day today...

i was cleaning my tank and my midas jumped out while i was down stairs putting the syphon out of my door, i come back up and he was flapping around on the floor. i quickly picked him up and put him back into my tank i held him in the water and he just sat there i held him in there for about five minutes then he sunk out my hands and was breathing very heavily on the bottom of the tank, i stopped syphoning the water out of my tank and shut the curtains and door in my room to make it dark and i was hoping that would stop him being so stressed.

i left the room for two hours and then went back into see if he was ok.. unfortunatley he was lying on his side on the bottom of the tank not breathing.

RIP midas
how long was he out of the water for? my freddy was out of the water for over 30 minutes and still lived around a week after she jumped out of the tank

Dude that sucks. I think we've probably all lost a fish to suicide jumping. Mine was a Delhezi. Got thru a little hole in the back that's no longer there. All you can think is 'Stupid fish!'.

thanks for your sorrows

about 3 mins, but i think he had a bad bump on his head... so..

sorry to hear about your lose.

this one night i left my lid off my tank thinking my oscar wouldn't jump out of my tank,
lucky i put my tanks in my bedroom cause she jumped out behind the tank in the middle of the night at like 3 am.
i woke up to the sounds of something flopping around.
i was wondering what it was so i just went back to sleep lol.
5 minutes later i woke up again and she started kicking lol
so i got up and i had to use my net to get her and when i picked her up
she was covered in dust. i felt soo bad for her and i put her back in the
tank and she had scratchs everywhere on her.

i hate hearing about people losing fish, fish that they liked.
recently 2 of my friends lost a bunch of fish to a chemical in their water
after doing a water change.
i can tell they miss those fish to, they've had them for a long time.
the big guys always matter.
