The Oscar will outgrow the 55 gallon, you would need at least a 75 (it is a bit wider then a 55). And in the tank that size I doubt there is much you will be able to keep with your Oscar. I am having the same problem with my Red Devil...

you have way too many fish in way too small of a tank, and as long as you continue to mistreat your fish by cramming them in a little 55g, you can expect plenty more problems. you need to look for more tanks, not more fish.

totally agree to many fish in a 55. look at a tank that is around 180 for that many large fish to live.

I've found its usually not the fish that's stupid, but the owner, take me for example...
my fish have me trained to feed them on cue *ha*, they know everytime the oscar snaps at the top of the water I turn around, and they always look hungry, so I cant help myself lol

for starters get a bigger tank.and for fish you need to get them the same size as the oscar.what kind of oscar do you have?

I agree. The oscar will outgrow the 55 and you are having compatibility problems anyway,
so why not upgrade to a 75 for the O.
Then you could leave the other fish in the 55?
Vitality:I am was having the same thing with my red devil.
He's solitary in his 200 gal. at the moment.
