The only questions that bother me a little are the ones that can be answered with a quick Google search. How big of a tank for..., How big does this fish get..., etc...
If you're too lazy to TRY looking up info then you're probably too Lazy to take good care of the fush once you get it.
I help as much as I can and all that but you have to admit that there are times when you read one and ask yourself WTF?
As for Noobies, They are the future of our hobby. Dont ever forget that. In my area in particular I have watched 3 LFS close down in the past year and a half. Thats one every 6 months! The art of cichlid keeping (my chosen avenue for this hobby so far) is not as common, and as I see it is dying. "The basics," don't get airtime or billboards. Thats why people buy 10 gallon tanks with an Oscar. If only there was a way to get the basics of fish keeping out there to the general public, they'd see the right way to do things. Seriously, how many people have you known or seen that didn't know what they were doing or were supposed to do, failed and gave up?
I didn't even know what a JD was 3 years ago and I'm almost ashamed to say that but we gotta help where/when we can or this hobby is gona disappear.
Forums like this are almost like a lifeline. This is a place where they can get answers and see how to do things the right way...generally
Sorry for my rant. OOOH Its Beer-thirty...I'm off like a prom dress - Later
