stupid rediculos pointless question

Ok i live in North america and when i look at a compus it points north duh. well if we lived in the Southern hemispher. say like South Amirica would the compus point south or would it still point north. I know stupid question. but this is the only forum i enjoy and am signed up for. and seeing as i will never go south of the equater i was wondering if anybody knew. YA im am a dork

soon, however the poles will switch so no matter where you are, it will point south. Actually, it alreadu it. the negative pole (aka south) is actually the one up north (fun and totally pointless fact)
